You have probably heard of the holy grail ingredient retinol by now, known as the best anti-ageing ingredient and we are here to tell you why you should be using Pevonia’s Micro-Retinol range. This range comes as a 4-step system (Cleanser, Toner, Serum, Moisturiser) to deliver amplified results instead of in just one serum.
Powerfully formulated micronised emulsion of retinol will allow this product to disperse evenly and rapidly within the deeper epidermal layers of the skin. Immediate absorption and targeted delivery system will restabilise the normal skin function within the basal cells.
What exactly is Retinol?
Retinol is a derivative of Vitamin A. It's an antioxidant which encourages cells to renew themselves, behaving like younger and healthier cells! Pevonia source their retinol from leafy greens.
Not only does this range contain the powerhouse ingredient for anti-ageing, but it also contains vitamin C, vitamin E, hyaluronic acid and more calming and restoring properties along with marine collagen and elastin in the micro-retinol moisturiser.
How does it work?
Retinol is known to regulate cell apoptosis, differentiation and proliferation meaning it will regulate your cell renewal. This in turn strengthens the protective function of the epidermis, restrains trans epidermal water loss and protects against collagen degradation. It is literally changing your skin's architecture to reduce signs of ageing and create healthier skin! Pevonia has formulated the micro-retinol range by micronising the retinol down to 10 microns. Putting this in perspective, our skin's intercellular spaces are between 8-20 microns therefore this product is going to penetrate quickly and easily into the deeper levels of the skin. This also means that a higher percentage of retinol isn’t required, limiting reaction or irritation on the skin.
